I Ask
I ask
How beautiful is your America
I cannot ask in singular fashion as we are a nation divided
Derided for our stance or chance to live normally
I ask
How Beautiful is your America
Tell me your economic strategies to suppress the legalities of COVID
Do your government run off of GoFundMe and Patreon accounts
I tell you about my America,
It’s laced with vivisections that create a network of segways and interjections
Misdirections of intentions melting into the pavement live streaming the birthed conclusions
Cryogenically screams for justice falling on the galvanized steel ears of retribution and recovery
The other day I seen a homeless man pull a gun on a policeman for his coffee and donuts
Is this what american way of life is
We have our takes but in order to deal with other our takes must make edges of reciprocity
Make differences common
Views from various angles focused
Understand that unique must garner respect
And realize that suspicion doesn’t have a skin color or body type.
And if we can do these things
We can put forth the effort
The comradery would flourish
The economy would grow
The civility will increase
Senseless death will decrease
We will live
As one America….

Re: I Ask
143! Good to see your writing again.
This was a good social commentary. I agree I’ve seen a lot of disparity in our country as of late. We are definitely in need of solutions. This had a strong spoken word vibe to it. Almost reminding me of Judas and the Black Messiah in terms of it’s tone and style. The callback to America did it for me. You ended it on a very real note. I agree that we should learn to respect one another and our differences and come together to solve our country’s woes. I’m unsure if we’ll ever get there.
Good piece here though all in all.
